General Information

Dr. Chen earned both his dental degree and hospital residency certificate at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then practiced family dentistry in Torrance, California for a few years. Eventually following his passion, entered into the graduate endodontic residency at the University of Southern California. 

Dr. Chen has presented several scientific articles, and currently holds faculty positions at both the UCLA Hospital Dentistry Section and the Graduate Endodontic Department at USC.

Dr. Chen is an active member of:

• American Dental Association of Endodontics
• Southern California Academy of Endodontics

Dr. Lythgoe graduated from the College of Idaho with a dual degree in Zoology and Chemistry prior to attending and earning his dental degree from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry, in Seattle.

After completing a Rotating Dental Internship in Norfolk, Virginia, he served as a dental officer in the U.S. Public Health Service for four years. He then successfully completed the two-year endodontic residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Long Beach, California.

Dr. Lythgoe's previous academic teaching experience includes:

• positions as a part-time clinical instructor in Oral Diagnosis at the University of Detroit
• part-time clinical instructor in endodontics at both USC and UCLA
• a consultant in endodontics at the VA Long Beach Hospital

Dr. Lythgoe is an active member of:

Linda is the first person patients will meet at our office. Her cheerful personality helps our anxious patients feel at ease. She is responsible for having the office run smoothly. As an office manager, she coordinates treatment as well as relations between the patients, doctors, and assistants. In addition to her managerial duties, she also acts as a liaison between our endodontists, (Dr. Chen & Dr. Lythgoe), and the referring general dentists.  If there are any questions about billing or insurance claims, Linda is the person to look for.

Roxanne is responsible for making sure that the back office runs smoothly and efficiently. Her meticulous management makes sure that the sterilization process and aseptic techniques adheres to the strict OSHA and CDC guidelines. In order to prevent any risk of cross-contamination, she monitors over the sterilization equipments to insure 100% effectiveness. She also oversees the other back office assistants to insure the best quality and standards of patient care possible. Her calm and easy-going nature helps relax the patients during treatment.

Cynthia (also known as Cindy) has been a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) since 1983, and has been in the endodontic field for 25 of those years. Her compassion for our patients is reflected from the ability to well-inform our patients, and her sensitivity to our patients needs. Her friendly demeanor can lighten up the most skeptic patients.  

Charmeen has been a RDA for over 13 years, in which 10 years of those years has been specialized in endodontics. Her cheerful disposition and laugh helps puts our patients into instant ease. In addition to her gentle care, she is able to articulate well to our patients in order for them to be well-informed about the treatment performed in our office. 

Connie is the front office assistant that helps set appointments, takes payments, and helps answer any questions that the patients may have. However, she can also be seen helping the back office from time to time assisting the doctors by translating for the Korean-speaking patients, to helping the back office take x-rays and prepare the operatories. She has been in the dental field for over ten years, and is familiar with dental treatments. Her responsibilities also continue outside the office by building new relations with outside dental offices and Sunny Hills Endodontics.
